Patricia Diane ‘Pat’ Sparks, 68, died August 22, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born September 7, 1951, in Hutchinson, to Jess W. and Anna Belle (Brawner) Snyder.

Pat attended Hutchinson schools. She worked at Kmart for 33 years until they closed. Pat then worked at The Stage, Old Navy, and The Sleep Shoppe before retiring. She had a heart the size of Hutchinson and you were her friend from the moment she met you. Family was her #1 priority and she took pictures of everyone and everything. Pat had a strong faith in God.

On May 24, 1968, she married Merrel C. ‘Bud’ Sparks Jr. in Hutchinson. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage before his death on March 31, 2018.

She is survived by: sons, Joey Sparks and David Sparks (Amanda), all of Hutchinson; daughter, Tammy Parker (Brad) of Wichita; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren on the way; and many extended family members.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sharon Bailey.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Elliott Chapel, with Gary Getting officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
