Curtis Henderson, 77, passed away on March 26, 2012 at his home in Woodland, WA. He was born on April 24, 1934 to N.B. and Carrie Henderson in Del Rio, TN.
Curtis served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4.
He was a teacher and principal in Tennessee and later retired from Alcoa and the Oak Tree Restaurant in Woodland. He and his late wife cared for adults with developmental disabilities in their home for the past 24 years. Curtis grew beautiful big gardens every year and enjoyed canning, playing cards, fishing, hunting and vacationing with his family. He also loved watching westerns and the "Married with Children" TV show.
Curtis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve Henderson and Angeline Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Richard Stenson; granddaughters, Alex Henderson, Nicole Haroldson and Lena Edwards; brothers, Coolidge and Clifford Henderson; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly (Watson) Henderson of 50 years in 2010; two brothers, Orville and Charles Henderson; and three sisters, Maybell Daniels, Gladys Monk and C.L. Willis.
A visitation service will be held on Sun., April 1, 2012 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow on Mon., April 2, 2012, 3:30 p.m., both at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA.
