James A. Luna in Galesburg, the son of Juan and Leanor Alverz Luna.
He married Darlene Dutcher on Dec. 30, 1965 in Galesburg.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Jeffrey (Susan) Luna, three brothers, Carlos (Norma) Luna, Vincent (Pat) Luna, and Jesse (Nancy) Luna, all of Galesburg; three sisters, Avelina Vargas, Chicago, and Margaret Gimenez and Alberta (Jess) Vega, both of Galesburg; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1958, and served in Germany with the Army from 1963-1965.
He was employed in the paint department at Maytag for 39 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 102.
He played fast-pitch softball for many years and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan.
