Phillip Dean Griffin, 75, of Pleasant Plains went home to be with his Lord Thursday, October 10, 2019, at his home.

He was born February 7, 1944 in Newport, Arkansas to Woodrow and Stella (Harris) Griffin. He retired from White Rodgers after 35 years as a Diecast Supervisor. He was a faithful member and servant of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the building committee, choir member, past teacher, and many other areas. He was a very loving husband, Dad and Grandpa (Poppy) and loved his every Sunday Family dinners.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Donnie Griffin.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Veheda Stephens Griffin of the home; three daughters, Leslie Galligher (Robert) of Pleasant Plains, Phyllis Scroggins (Bill) of Floral and Judy Girtman (Kevin) of Austin, Arkansas; three grandsons, Austin Scroggins, Cameron Scroggins and Connor Girtman; three great-grandchildren, Addelyn Scroggins, Ashton Scroggins and Caylee Scroggins.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 14, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Calvary MBC in Pleasant Plains under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Sutton, Bro. Reggie Walling and Bro. Phillip Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Putman Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mt. Calvary MBC, 290 Main Street in Pleasant Plains.

Pallbearers will be R.L. Smith, Deon Smith, Bobby Galloway, Dean Nicholson, John Maples and Bob Galligher.

Honorary pallbearers are James Finley, Nicholas Dunn, Ewing Lawrence and George Mashburn.
