British newspaper archive reports indicate she had spent a lovely day with family including her 2 brothers who were visiting. After they left she complained of pains in her head. A doctor attended but she died suddenly probably from bursting a blood vessel. Her parents Robert Meek, a cloth printer and Janet Hardie.

He died at home 304 High Street Linlithgow 28/9/1906. His health had been failing for sometime and he was confined to bed. Proprietor of Adam Bathgate and Son, joiners and carpenters. Keen politition and supported the Liberal party, active member of the masonic lodge. In 1904 his portrait installed in Linlithgow Lodge.
