Jessie Hardie Meek, a domestic servant on marriage b Linlithgow 1848 - died Linlithgow 7/1/1899. British newspaper archive reports indicate she had spent a lovely day with family including her 2 brothers who were visiting. After they left she complained of pains in her head. A doctor attended but she died suddenly probably from bursting a blood vessel. Her parents Robert Meek, a cloth printer and Janet Hardie.

Adam Drummond Bathgate b Cramond 1849 to James Bathgate 1826-1876 and his wife Mary Buchanan 1825-1893.
He died at home 304 High Street Linlithgow 28/9/1906. His health had been failing for sometime and he was confined to bed. Proprietor of Adam Bathgate and Son, joiners and carpenters. Keen politition and supported the Liberal party, active member of the masonic lodge. In 1904 his portrait installed in Linlithgow Lodge.

Probate total £95-5-6 (cash and household effects and furniture, life insurance) Beneficiary Mary Braithwaite his widow whom he married 1899. She died Bo'ness 1969 aged 75.

James died at home 12/9/1875 14 Wilson Street Glasgow at 6am aged 7 weeks old. Debility from birth. No regular medical attendant. His father Adam Bathgate owns the grave section x lair 2954 in Craigton Cemetery Glasgow but no others buried in this plot.

Robert James b 1877 - died Royal infirmary Glasgow12/4/1927. Husband of Agnes Balconquel. He is buried Linlithgow Cemetery (British newspapers archive) He was a joiner who took over his father's business.

John b 12/8/1880 - died Mitchigan USA 16/6/1940. Royal Navy records idnetify him as 5 feet 4 inches tall, brown hair and eyes. fresh complexion.

William M, joiner /cabinet maker b 1884 - unmarried and died in action France. 16th Bn Royal Scots. Body never recovered. Arras Memorial. Usual address 268 High Street Linlithgow. Went to Canada 1910 and returned 1914. Worked Bridgeness Sawmills Bo'ness.

(army pension, in the bank, funeral benefit) £100 to widowed sister Mrs Rae, balance to stepmother Mary Braithwaite "I desire she live in comfort as long as she lives" "My property in Regina if can be sold to be divided amongst my married brothers or on relatives in need of financial assistance"

Ancestry contributor identifies Katherine Hardie Bathgate born 1895 as Adam and Mary Braithwaite's daughter, she was a trainee pupil teacher but I am unable to find out about her.
