August 4, 1937. Mr. Aarons was living in Oak Grove, Mobile, Alabama at the M.L. Davis home in employee's quarters, at the time of the interview. He was a former employee at the Davis Saw Mill. According to the interview he was referred to as "an old x-slave". He stated he was around 18 - 20 years old at the time of surrender. Using 1865 as the surrender date would make him about 92 years old in 1937.
We can only hope Mr. Aarons is buried in the cemetery at the Davis home in the shade of one of those old Naval Oaks. Rest in Peace Sir
