Betty Jean (nee' Smith) Ford, formerly Betty Jean Mahood, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the age of 85.
Betty Jean was the devoted and loving wife of the late James Thomas Mahood and the late Lloyd Ford, Jr; the perfect mom of Karla Mahood, April (Robert) Kleist, and James Steven (Mary) Mahood; caring grandma of Cassandra Ricks, Crystal Kleist, Lena Torrence, Josiah (Michelle) Casby, Jessica Kleist, Jennifer Kleist, Noah (Ashley) Casby, Nick (Julie) Casby, Caleb Casby, and the late Carlos (Jennifer) Brock and the late Robert Thomas Kleist; cherished great-grandma of Tristen Casby, Ryleigh Casby, Chloe Casby, Luccas Casby, Colby Casby, Ellie Casby, Gannon Casby, Finn Casby, Fletcher Casby, Payton Casby, Corbin Casby, Connor Casby, James Michael Kleist, Aubrey Kleist, India Brock, I'esha Brock, Keelan Dixon, Jordan Brock, Ezekiel Brock, Kevin Brock, Victoria Brock, Caleb Brock, and Cheyenne Cooper; and great-great grandma to Aiden Peel and Adrian Peel; dear sister of David (the late Patty) Smith, Wanda (the late Edward) Arnold, stepmother of June Moss and the late Charles Ford; a beloved aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and a good friend to so many in her lifetime, especially Judi and Pat.

Betty Jean was a devout member of the Arnold Church of the Nazarene for decades. Betty Jean was a great cook and baker. The family especially liked her Christmas cookies and banana bread. She loved to travel and took many road trips with James and later, Lloyd all over the United States. She was the sweetest, most loving and caring person in the world and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and all who knew her.

Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
