"MARTIN ELIZABETH R. "BETSY" M A R T I N, age 85, died peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at her home in Bay Village. She was born in Cleveland to Frederick and Helen Ross, the younger of two children. Her family moved to Green Bay, WI, where her father started a company to produce business forms. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, became a member of the Delta Gamma sorority, and in 1952 was one of a small number of women graduates of its School of Business. That same year she married T. Richard "Dick" Martin, also of Cleveland. In 1957 they settled in Bay Village where they raised two children, Susan and Ross, and she supported Dick in all his endeavors. She was active in various organizations, including P.E.O., Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, and the League of Women Voters, and was a member of Bay Presbyterian Church. Betsy was a wonderful host, beloved friend and always enjoyed telling a good joke. She is survived by her two children, son-in-law Larry Fournier, daughter-in-law PJ Martin (Schinski), and four grandchildren, Andrew, Grace, Ellie and Katherine. Her husband, parents and brother preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 22nd at 1:00 pm at Bay Presbyterian Church (Lake and Columbia Roads., Bay Village). Reception to follow. Interment private, Lakeside Cemetery, Bay Village. Special thanks to her friends at Griswold Home Care of Western Cuyahoga, who loved and cared for her in her last months. Memorials may be made in Betsy's name to Lake Erie Nature and Science Center, 28728 Wolf Rd., Bay Village, Ohio 44140."
