Doris Owens, age 79 of Wausau, Florida. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.
Mr. Owens was born in Wausau, Fl on August 4, 1941, to John Owens and Cora Dee Atwell Owens. Mr. Owens was a long time resident of Wausau. He was a kind and generous man to all who knew him. Through his hard work, he was the founder and owner of J.D. Owens Company of Marianna, Fl.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jaunell Smith Owens. Five children: Tessera Owens Ward, Thomas Owens and wife Angela, Ken Owens and wife Teresa, Scott Owens and wife Kayla, and Jenny Strickland and husband Tracy, all of Chipley. He has 12 grandchildren: Shanna Gillispie, Samantha Westbrook, Shawn Owens, Cameron Owens, Wade Owens, Cierra Owens, Isabella Kelley, Bria Cannizzaro, Chelsey Owens, Zander Owens, Casey Strickland, and Chase Strickland; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Wausau Assembly of God in Wausau, Florida. Interment followed at Wausau Memorial Gardens.
