Donald Schultz, 86, of Madison, AL, passed away on August 18, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Schultz and mother, Abigail Schultz.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Evelyn Schultz, and son, Danny Schultz.
He was a proud member of the US Navy and served aboard the USS Roosevelt and the USS Hooper Island during the Korean War. He loved baseball and played on the Navy team. He continued his love for baseball by coaching Dixie Youth and later became the league president. Afterwards he continued for years umpiring high school baseball and later refereeing high school football. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, never missing a game while able to watch or listen. He also enjoyed playing golf, playing in leagues into his 80s. He was a salesman for over 50 years, a loving husband and father. He was a Christian and was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Midway, Alabama. His family is blessed and comforted to know that he is at peace and at home with the Lord.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, AL, followed by the funeral service at 2:00. He will be laid to rest at Burningtree Memorial Gardens in Decatur, AL at 3:30.
