Elizabeth graduated from Roosevelt high school in 1967. She worked for the Drury Inn Hotel for 8 years before retiring in 2012. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.
She was a beloved mother; she put her children’s need above her own and made many sacrifices to raise her two daughters. A beloved sister, she loved her siblings dearly. She was a strong woman and fought with honor against the cancer for three years. She always made a house feel like a home. She is loved by many of her relatives and friends and she will be truly missed.

Thomas-Perkins; granddaughters, Peyton M. and Parker M. Herndon; great-grandson, Isaiah Byrd-Perkins; her brother; Benjamin L. Porter; her sisters, Judy C. Myles, Jannetta (Michael) Warren; and a host of relatives and friends. She truly loved her best-friend of 50 years Elaine McKinney; special friends Minnie Whyms, Alberta Taylor and Wilma Burton.
