Matthew Ryan Nelson, 28, passed away August 4, 2020 at IU Methodist Hospital. Matt was born on August 9, 1991 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Melvin Nelson and Angela Nelson.
Matt was described as a "jack of all trades" and excelled at just about anything he tried. He was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed working with computers, but he found his true passion in tattooing. He poured his heart into his work and had a natural talent for art.
His compassion for others was so strong that even in his passing, he was able to save lives, saving eight people through his selfless decision of being an organ donor. Matt lit up any room he entered and loved to make people laugh. But above all, he loved spending time with his son, Hayden.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Melvin and Angela Nelson; his son, Hayden Matthew Nelson; his sister, Stephanie Nelson; nephew, Kyrie Nelson; step-father William Smith. He is also survived by grandparents, Stephen and Andria Powell, Thelma Adkins, and Barbara Thomas. Aunts and Uncles, Brandee (Charles) Sayer, Ron (Becky) Hirth, Christina Rebennack, Stephen A (Ashley) Powell, Calvin Nelson, Earl (Teddy) Nelson, Lois Nelson (Frank) and many more friends.
