Burton Frederick Bogart age 78, of Maple View, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the Oswego Hospital in Oswego, NY. He was born in New Haven, February 11, 1929, son of the late Burton Kenneth and Nellie Risley Bogart. Burton worked at Nestle's, Bob Wat-kins Garage and was head mechanic and bus driver at Mexico Academy and Central School for 38 1/2 years retiring in 1992.

Burt Bogart was married December 22, 1951 to Alta Lillian Rose in a double wedding ceremony with Miss Donna Pettingill and Mr George Mason. The Reverend David S. Davis of the Baptist Parsonage of New Haven, administering the vows.

Together they had seven children;

1. Mrs. Sue Baker (Foster Baker) of Mexico, NY,
2. Mr. Burton Robert Bogart (Robin Cunningham-Bogart) of Clyde,NY
3. Mrs. Pat Prosser (Floyd Michael Prosser) of New Haven
4. Mr. Kenneth Bogart (Lynn Fisher-Bogart) of New Haven,NY
5. Mrs. Mary Eberhardt (Jeff Eberhardt)of Saylorsburg, PA
6. Mr. Donald Bogart(Emily Wilson-Bogart)of Royal Oak, MI
7. Mr. John Bogart(Jamie Shear-Bogart)of Mexico, NY

Burt also had 2 sisters; Ms. Betty Overacker of Central Square and Ms. Dorothy Mahoney of Clay, NY

He was predeceased by his brother, Morris, July 31, 2007.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Monday from the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Ave., Mexico, NY.

A memorial was placed at Mexico High School "Hall of Honor" in the names of Burt and Morris for their years of service to the school system.
