Jimmy (Jim) Lee Roberts, 78, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 10, 2020 in Springdale, AR. He was born on January 28, 1942 in Grove, OK to his parents, Clyde Elmo Roberts and Ruby Louise Webster-Roberts. Jim graduated from Grove High School of Grove, OK with The Class of 1959. After High School he was drafted into the United States Army for three years prior to The Vietnam War. When Jim returned home after his military service and continued on with his family Farming and Ranching Legacy. Farming and Ranching was his life’s passion. He was a family man that loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren. He was also a man of strong faith and attended Carr Baptist Church of Grove, OK. Jim enjoyed Coyote hunting with his hunting dogs. In the evenings Jim and his wife Diana would go outside to relax watching the nightly stars sparkling in the sky, while listening to the Coyotes howling. He also enjoyed going to the lake or creek for the weekends camping, cooking and grilling foods from fish, fried potatoes, meats and anything that they could round up. Jim’s family is going to miss him dearly. His memory will live on with his family listening to the nightly Coyote Howls. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ruby Roberts; 2 sisters, Rose Ann Roberts and Nell Youngs; 2 brothers, Bob Roberts and Don Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diana Roberts of Grove, OK; his three children, Shelley Bales and husband Brian of Sulphur Springs, TX, Craig Roberts of Grove, OK, Kirk Roberts and wife Brittany of Southwest City, MO; 4 grandchildren, Shelby Bales of Paris, TX, Brittany Gregory and husband Gideon of Sulphur Springs, TX, Kale Roberts of Southwest City, MO and Rosalie Ann Roberts of Southwest City, MO; his brother, Tom Roberts and wife Barbara of Grove, OK; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Jim’s family visitation to greet friends will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 9:00-9:45am at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 722 N. 46th St., Grove, OK 74344. Following Jim’s visitation his Celebration Of Life Funeral Service will be at 10:00am in the Chapel of Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 722 N. 46th St., Grove, OK 74344. Burial will be at Fields Cemetery, Grove, OK. Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 722 N. 46th St., Grove, OK 74344 with Shaunda J.
