Mr. Roy Alton Thompson, age 78, of Woodbury, passed away August 18, 2020, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Roy was born in Baxley, GA, son of the late Harvey Thompson and Myrtle Lord Thompson. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Roy worked for CSX Railroad for many years, and after retiring he became a Greeter at Roosevelt Warm Springs Little White House for an additional five years. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Thomaston. Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, working in his yard and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Martin Thompson, sisters, Minnie Belle Sherrill and Betty Joann Thompson, and his brother, Mitchell Meeks.

He is survived by his wife: Carol Thompson; children: Kenneth Thompson of FL, Demetrio Thompson of FL, and Miracle Daniel of TX; three granddaughters, three grandsons, and one great-grandson; brothers: Ronald Thompson of wife Brigette, Charles Thompson and Michael Meeks all of FL; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, August 21, 4-5 p.m., at the funeral home.

Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor. Mickey Corley officiating.
