Anita was born in Gaston County on February 5, 1963 a daughter of the late Everette Lee Carrigan and Lougene Arrendale Carrigan. She grew up in First Wesleyan Church in Cherryville and worked as a waitress.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Craig Steven Carrigan; a sister Linda Lou Carrigan and a niece, Shelly Denise Hood.
Survivors include her daughter, Ashly Black of Crouse; two sisters, Deborah Hope of Cherryville and Pamela Hood of Gastonia and a brother, Ronald Carrigan of Clemmons.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 1:45 to 2:45PM at Anthony Grove Baptist Church in Crouse.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, January 16, 2017 with Dr. Dennis Bean officiating.
Burial will be private.
