Jesse was born in East Orange NJ. He was born on October 24, 1941 to Pauline and Sidney Roberts. He was called home by our father in heaven on May 31, 2017.
Jesse grew up in the city of East Orange where he attended Eastern Grammar School and East Orange High School. He later resided in Nutley, NJ for over 10 years. He worked as a self-employed mechanic and proud owner of coach craft auto shop in Newark, NJ. In his leisure time he would spend time with family and friends, draw, listen to jazz or enjoy a game of football or basketball. He was affectionately known as "EightBall" to his family and close friends.
Jesse leaves to mourn his sisters: Jeanette Miller, Joan Roberts & Jean Roberts, nephews; Abdul Sharif, Johnnie Mitchell, Russell Davis & Eric Mason, nieces; Belinda Roberts & Nyasa Mitchell- Mason, cousin; Dorothy Barnes, ex-wife Constance Roberts, stepson Jeff and many other loved ones.
Jesse will always be remembered as the loving, supportive son, brother, uncle and friend that he was. He was a big man in stature but a much bigger man with his acts of kindness and generosity. He will always be cherished and loved.
