Music was her passion and joy and remained so to the end. She was a member of several vocal groups in high school and once sang with Bing Crosby's son, Gary. She played multiple musical instruments and while in Europe she sang duets with her daughter Michelle. She performed with different choirs including the Woodbridge Community Choir while in concert with the Washington Philharmonic Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. She met her husband Robert, a senior at The Ohio State University, where Carole was working at the Ohio State University Hospital. They married five months later, a marriage that last 60 years until her passing. Carole was also an accomplished seamstress. She designed and sewed her own dresses, as well as, her bridesmaid's dresses for her wedding.
A military wife for 30 years and she worked during that time and for the next 10 years afterwards in various capacities as a RN between Hawaii and Heidelberg, Germany and many places in between. This included a Directorship of Nursing at the Woodbridge Retirement Village in Woodbridge, Virginia. She was a faith believing Christian, Sunday School teacher and host of numerous bible studies in her home in Germany, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. She chaired chapters of The International Christian Women's Club in the United States and Heidelberg, Germany. Carole lived each day extending love, kindness, joy, peace, gentleness, faithfulness, patience, goodness and self-control as expressed by the Apostle Paul in the book of Galatians. Although not included in chapter five of Galatians, the characteristic of "sweet" when describing Carole's disposition would be appropriate.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Nancy Lewis and Juanita Jones; brother, Richard Goff and son, Captain Robert B. Wilson II. She is survived by her husband Col. Robert B. Wilson, United State Army, Ret.; son, James Douglas Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Michelle D. and David J. Woehr; grandchildren, Dallas Michael Wilson, Robert B. Wilson III, Leah Ai Ling Woehr, Claire Miao Woehr; brothers-in-law, Dick, Ted, Tom, Neal, Charles, and Hugh Wilson; several nieces and nephews.

Soldier Turned Artist
After nearly 30 years in the Army corps of engineers, Robert retired to Hilton Head Island, SC where he began his self taught painting career during the next 20 years. Working in water color and acrylics he completed more than 300 works, including a series of Ohio's covered bridges. His work featured wildscapes and historic structures all taken from his winter home in costal, SC mountain and blue water streams near his scenic home in Brevard, NC and pastured scenes from his native Ohio. His work was featured in galleries in Hilton Head, SC and Bevard, NC and numerous summer art shows. Unsold pieces were donated to the Plain City, OH historical society
