James Phillip "Whitey" Westbrook, 61 of Bowie, passed from this life August 1st, 2020. Whitey was born August 2, 1958 in Tokyo, Japan to Jerry and Louise Marie Westbrook. In his early life, Whitey served in the United States Air Force as a radio operator. After the Air Force, Whitey spent most of his career as a machinist, working with CNC machines and as a tool-pusher in the oilfield. Most recently, Whitey worked for White's Magneto in Bowie.
Whitey was preceded in death by both parents, his son Adam Westbrook, and his brother Mark Robinson.
Whitey is survived by his daughter Jennifer Westbrook, son Christopher Westbrook, granddaughter Jordan Barrington, grandson Adam Westbrook, grandson Aiden Westbrook, brother Ron Westbrook, sister Rebecca Compton, brother Allen Robinson, and brother Eddy Robinson.
Whitey was well-loved, and will be deeply missed. Whitey's family has entrusted Scott-Morris Funeral Home with his care. The family will share a private memorial at a later date.
