Paul Eugene Reynolds passed from his home in Bentonville, Arkansas on to his heavenly home on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the age of 86. He was born December 14, 1933 on a farm in Bixby, Oklahoma to Ale "Doc" and Velma Boggs Reynolds.

He grew up a farmer's son, a preacher's kid, & and a mama's boy. Paul worked long & hard on the family farm, helping his dad raise abundant crops in Bixby's rich, river-bottom soil. During WWII, there was a German POW camp near the Reynolds farm. They helped out with farm chores, having no idea what each other was saying, but it was a good experience and one he never forgot.

When Paul was 5 years old, he saw a pretty little 4 year old girl, standing on a piano bench at church, singing with her family. His mother leaned over & whispered in his ear, "That's the girl I want you to marry". He sunk down in the pew with embarrassment, but that all changed with one wink from Paul to Velma LaBass in 8th grade. That wink took them all the way through high school and they were united in marriage on August 15, 1952 at Bixby Free Will Baptist Church. They were married one day shy of 68 years.

He and Velma were devastated when their first baby girl was stillborn. However, God did not waste their broken hearts and blessed them with 3 more baby girls. He taught his daughters the importance of honesty & integrity, to be trustworthy & dependable, all about farming, and most importantly, to love Jesus. He allowed all 3 of them to drive in the pasture at a young age. There may still be some chrome from an old Ford pickup lying around out there!

Paul was drafted into the United States Army in 1956. For two years, he proudly served his country as a helicopter mechanic. He was stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, Fort Rucker in Alabama, & Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Maria Ann, son-in-law, Mark Leibold, and brother-in-law, Jerome Carr.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Velma, 3 daughters Paula (Terry) Rowland, Cindy Reynolds, & Missy (Dave) Yerxa, 2 grandchildren, Leslie (Scott) Toler & Bryce Rowland, 2 great-grandchildren, Mason & Maura Toler, and 1 sister, Patsy Carr.

Private family services will be at West Ridge Free Will Baptist Church by Nelson Berna Funeral Home. Private interment is in Fayetteville National Cemetery. Casket Bearers are Terry Rowland, Bryce Rowland, Scott Toler, Mason Toler, Dave Yerxa, & Curtis Bradley.
