Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 21, 2020, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner with Rev. Ronnie Koch officiating. Interment will follow at Union Mound Cemetery in Sumner. Visitation will be held for two hours preceding services at the church on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
Kathleen Ruth (Salisbury) Elliott was born April 10, 1938, daughter of Arthur and Miriam (Cook) Salisbury. Kate was baptized May 1938 and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Readlyn.
Kate received her education in the Readlyn area schools.
She belonged to St. Paul Ladies Society, Red Hats, Sundance Kids Bowling League, and monthly outings with her Beatrice Cheese Gang.
Mom was a homemaker for many years and had an a few odd jobs along the way. She took a job with Meinerz Creamery in 1978, later known as Beatrice Cheese and retired in 2005. Kate also worked at Sumner City Hall and Sumner Post Office for many years.
Kate loved history and watching game shows. She enjoyed making quilts, bowling on regular league and traveling league, reading and watching Days of Our Lives. Kate enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially the grandchildren. She was always up for a trip or just an outing.
Kate is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Linda, her son Mike, her grandson Joshua, her brothers Richard Salisbury and John Salisbury, and brother-in-law Charlie Ackerson.
Kate has a big heart and an infectious smile and robust laughter. She will be missed, but we know she is in God's loving arms surrounded by all her loved ones.
