Phillip Ray Couch, 66, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today in Central Church of Christ Chapel. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Phillip was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Sikeston, Mo., to Louis and Zelma Couch. He was a U.S. Marine, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force. He married Suzanne Wright in 1968 in Fort Worth. He was a retired minister and an avid Bible scholar.

God brought Phillip and Suzanne together, making them one. He then blessed them with Aaron, making them a family. Aaron and his wife, Brandi, will soon have a family of their own. For the last seven months, Phillip had been anxiously awaiting the birth of his granddaughter. Grumpy Pa may never hold her, but through God's grace, he will be watching over his precious granddaughter, Kaelyn Grace, and his entire family from above.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, April Denise Couch.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne; a son, Aaron and wife Brandi of Amarillo; a sister, Faith Ann Neal and husband Alvin of Crowley; and a brother, Rodger Couch and wife Alicia of Decatur.

The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, Olivia's Angels, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
