Joe Oliver Duncan age 83, passed away August 17, 2020.

Preceded in death by his father, Joe S. Duncan; mother, Hallie L. Alley; brother, Robert E. Coggins, and beloved nephew, Charles R. Binkley Jr..

He is survived by sisters, Margaret B. Turner (Mel) and Brenda Sue Collins; nephews, Ronald Jessie Binkley (Lori), Donald Joe Binkley (Shanna), Jackie Aaron Coggins and Robert E. Coggins Jr.; niece, Marsha Coggins Vick (Wayne).

Joe attended Hume Fogg High School, and served 2 years in the Army. He retired from Euco Materials in 1988 after 35 years of service.
Joe had two passions in life: running, and Vanderbilt sports. He was a longtime member of the Nashville Striders, making many long-lasting friendships.

Joe suffered a life altering injury in the Nashville Half Marathon on April 27, 2013, falling and damaging his spine, resulting in paralysis from the neck down. He has been confined to a wheelchair for the past seven years. His many friends in Striders, particularly Peter and Ruth Pressman, Dean and Sue Whitehead, Smitty and Pat Schmidt, among others were there to provide support during this difficult time.
Our family is grateful to this wonderful organization.

A Military Burial will be conducted 11 am Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, TN.
