It is very probable that Abner Wood is buried in this cemetery considering that both his wives, Louisiana Silvey Wood and Elizabeth Bounds Wood are buried here. (See their respective memorials for more info). Also, there is a paragraph in a Floyd Family book, "Floyd Family History: Theophilus and Delilah Page Floyd" by Charles A. Floyd, published 2014 that indicates Abner Wood was buried in Rocky Mount. (Excerpt from Page 101) It reads as follows:

"Elizabeth Bounds (Floyd) died after August 1915 and after the age of eighty-four, but of the exact date I am uncertain. She is buried in the Bounds cemetery in Rocky Mount, Louisiana next to her second husband Abner Wood."

Abner Wood and Louisiana Silvey were married June 7, 1838 in Clarke Co, Georgia. In the 1850 US census in Mississippi, Abner and Lucy Wood are found with children, Mary J (10), Lucy (8), Abner (5), John (3) and Josephine (1). Abner Wood's profession is listed as a Blacksmith.

I do not know when exactly Abner Wood died. He is shown to still be living as late as March 8, 1891 in or around Athens, Texas as evidenced by a letter I have that was written to him by his granddaughter, Ella Head Brockman who was living in Frog Level, Louisiana in that year and by which she notifies him of her new married name and that she has been married for 15 months and has a new baby named Tommy.

By 1910, Abner's widow, Elizabeth Wood is shown living with her brother, Stephen H Bounds in Bossier parish Louisiana. Prior to that in 1900, I can find neither of their whereabouts. But I would guess Abner probably died no later than about 1900 give or take a few years. He would have been close to 85 years of age by that year.~ Kevin Bounds.
