Linda Lou Fisher McDowell, age 79, of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. She was born on August 19,1940, in Dallas, Texas.

She graduated from Longview High School in 1958 and went on to pursue her degree at Tyler Junior College. Linda worked as a Registered Radiology Technician in Tyler, TX and Texarkana, AR. She was employed with Cotton Belt Railroad in Texarkana, AR and in Dallas, TX.

She was a faithful member of Fairview United Methodist Church, where she was on several committees, including serving as president of the United Methodist Women. She volunteered in the Texarkana area raising money for the Arkansas Children's Hospital. She served with Gene on the NAIC Ark-La-Tex Chapter of Investors. One of her many passions included serving as an advocate for SCAN/ Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Eugene McDowell, her parents Leonard P. and Lillie Bell Fisher of Longview, Texas and her sister and brother in law Jo Beth and Johnny Sharp of Marshall, Texas.

She is survived by her sons and very special daughter in law, Lynn and Vicki McDowell, Brad McDowell of Texarkana, AR. Her daughter and son in law, Melonie and Doug Ramsey of Fayetteville, AR; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Heather McDowell of Texarkana, AR, Nathan and Amanda McDowell of Bella Vista, AR. Karlie and Caroline Ramsey of Fayetteville, AR; and 6 great grandchildren. A very special niece and her husband, Jan and Joe Massey and their sons John and Joel Massey of Edmond, Oklahoma. Her sister in laws and husband, Glenda and Doug Miller of Ogden, AR., Betty Lou Cobb and the late Sonny Cobb of Ashdown, AR. Barbara McDowell of Mesa, AR, Don and Eileen McDowell of Glendale, AZ and many other nieces, nephew and cousins, whom she loved dearly.

She enjoyed traveling, shopping, catching up with family and friends on Facebook and most of ALL spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren!

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Ashland Cemetery, in Diana, Texas with Rev. Greg Burke officiating.
