Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late John and Jessie (Arroway) Wallace.
He worked as an operator and Forman at Alcan in Scriba.
Roger was a member of the VFW Post 5885 and the Oswego Moose.
He was famous for his chicken barbeques.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn (Holmes) Wallace; a daughter, Karen (Todd) Tafenheart of Oswego; a step-daughter, Candy (Pete) McDougall of Oswego; a step-son, John (Kim) Thompson of Oswego; brothers Tom Wallace and Dick Wallace of Oswego; two sisters, Mae McLaughlin and Jean Tonkin of Oswego; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers, Ray, John, Danny and Dave Wallace and sisters, Virginia Stepiens and Shirley Melnick.
Calling hours will be held 4-7pm Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary's Church in the spring with burial to follow at Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.
