Lafayette Perry III, 79, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

He graduated from Grace James High School and upon completion, he enlisted and served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He received numerous awards for his service including:

(1) Purple Heart
(2) National Defense Service Medal
(3) Good Conduct Medal
(4) Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device
(5) Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Stars
(6) Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit

After receiving an honorable discharge from the Marines, he worked a total of 43 years at Eureka Brick & Tile and ConAgra Frozen Foods, retiring after 38 years from ConAgra Frozen Foods in Russellville, Arkansas. He had great joy in being an active member at the the Clarksville Church of Christ and would often arrive early to greet others with a smile and handshake. He also enjoyed sitting in weekly Bible class with Stan Brown and walking with John Chrisman at the Marvin Center. He really loved spending time with all of his family, friends, and church members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lafayette Perry Jr. and Helen Newton Perry, sister Myrtle Lou Rollie, and brother Robert L. Newton.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 52 years, Clara Rose Willis Perry. Two daughters: Lytesa Ann Perry Addison of Clarksville, Annie Elaine Perry Torres and husband Andres of Clarksville. Six Grandchildren: Andres Torres Jr., Clarissa Ann Christine Addison, Javan Lafayette Torres, Kiara Rosanna Torres, Ariana Clara Asunción Torres, and Emanuel Faustino Torres. One sister: Helen Wells of Fort Smith, Arkansas. And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church members, and friends.

Graveside services will be on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 10 AM at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas with Brother Jake Chism officiating.
PALLBEARERS: Patrick Baker, Curtis Embry, Anthony Perry, Perry, Joe Perry Jr.,Lonnie Perry, Thomas Perry,Lenny West, Timothy West. HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Stan Brown,John Chrisman, Bob Frost, Bobby Mitchell
