Robert "Bob" L. Blackford

Robert "Bob" L. Blackford, 74, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. He was born December 1, 1945, in Nelsonville, Ohio, son of the late Robert Bale and Vivian Joy Blackford. Bob was married to June Bowlby Blackford, who survives.

He retired from Diamond Power and Anchor Hocking and currently worked part time at The Bickford in Lancaster. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and servant of God. He formerly was a member of The Word of Restoration Church in Logan, The International Worship Center in North Ft. Myers, Florida and most recently The NBC Church in Pataskala. Bob enjoyed singing in all these churches.

Along with his wife, Bob is survived by a son, Joe (Stephanie) Blackford of Logan; daughter, Tarra "Tee" (Keith) Lytle of Logan; stepson, Dan Harris of Blanchester; grandchildren, Shena (Joe) Zimmerman, Shadow Lytle, Keyli Blackford, Cameron Matheny, Caleb Matheny, Andrea Harris, Noah Harris, Jacob (Whitney) Randolph and Rachel Randolph; great grandchildren, Carter Potts, Jett Randolph and Ady Sneed; brother, Robley "Buddy" (Theresa) Blackford of Port Clinton and Linda (Jim) Sickles of Albany; several nieces and nephews and his former son-in-law, Russell Crocker of Cuba, Missouri.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sierra Lytle; bonus daughter, Valerie Crocker, sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Don Johnson and mother-in-law, Nellie Bowlby.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2020, in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Kent Searle and Vern Goss officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5-7 p.m. and on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Robert "Bob" Blackford to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
