He is survived by his son John Thompson, daughter Kelly Thompson. Step children Debra Rhoades, Ellen Starkweather, Mark Starkweather, Chester Starkweather, Eric Starkweather and Rodney Starkweather. Sister Roxanne Schroeder. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Burial of ashes will be at Wyuka Cemetery.
