He was born August 7, 1964 in Maryland, the son of Rachel Ann Ingram McHenry and the late Alf Junior McHenry.
Sambo was formerly employed as an industrial electrician for Groendyke Manufacturing.
He was a loved son, brother, and uncle. One of his biggest joys in life was to help others, always willing to jump in and assist someone in need. He was also the caretaker for his father, mother, and sick aunt.
Sambo is survived by his sisters, Debbie Ingram and husband Johnny of Goshen, Sallie Madison of Richmond, Fonda Sprouse and husband Steve of Goshen; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Wayne Wilhelm, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Marie Poole; and two sisters, Donna Wright and Faye McHenry.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Ingram Family Cemetery with Pastor Claude Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at his home at other times.
