Harry Benjamin Fisher was the son of Ann (née Rumbaugh) and John W. Fisher, born in 1862 in Allen County, Ohio. His father was then a private in the 99th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The Fisher family was enumerated in 1870 in Paulding County, Ohio. Harry was 12 years old when his mother died in 1875. His father remarried in 1876 in Auglaize County, Ohio, where the family was enumerated in 1880.

There is a Civil War pension card for "Fisher, Harry B." that shows service in the "100 Ind. Inf." (the company is unclear; perhaps "K"). He filed for a pension as an invalid on 8 May 1899 in Indiana. "Fisher, Arvilla," filed for a widow's pension on 24 March 1930 in Ohio.

Arvilla Fisher died on Saturday (16 Jul 1949) at her daughter Jennie Alexander's home in Celina. Additional survivors: Ada Saultzbaugh and Robert, both of Lima; Joseph, Kokomo, Indiana; and Cletus and Clifford, Celina. Burial in Swamp College Cemetery.
