Douglas (Fuzzy) Paul Hodges, age 61 of Wirtz, died Saturday, September 8, 2007. He was born November 30, 1945, a son of the late Paul Armstead Hodges and Rachel Mae Turpin. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one grandson, Timothy Dale Hodges. He was self-employed as a painting contractor for 20 years and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife, Susie Ward Hodges; son, Douglas Dale Hodges and friend Mary Alice Ovsenik; four daughters, Becky (Steve) Smith, Deborah (Ricky) Hodges, Melinda (Darrell) Hodges, Gwendolyn Smith; brothers, Allen, George, Paul and Mike Hodges; sister, Joyce (Don) Kennedy; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Gary Hoffman and Rev. Denver Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday with his family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
