George Cossie Dingus, 91, died Friday (Oct. 8, 1999) at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He was a lifelong resident of the Wise County area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Clark Dingus..
Surviving are a son, Albert Dingus, Norton, Va.; daughter, Ada Jones, Baltimore, Md.; two granddaughters, Deborah Lynn Booth, Bristol, Va., and Tammy Twardowski, Glenburnie, Md.; two grandsons, Roger Booth and Kenneth Booth, both of Saltville, Va.; five great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Hagy Funeral Home, Norton, Va. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Fred Ramey officiating. Burial will be at the Laurel Grove Cemetery.
