Mr. Larry Craig, 69, of Andalusia, passed away on, Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Opp Health and Rehab.
Larry was born in River Falls on March 16, 1951. He was the seventh and last child of Wesley N. and Amy Lois Linzy Craig. As he was growing up, Larry was quite the athlete. While in high school at AHS, he played both basketball and baseball, and later when he attended L. B. W. he played both sports as well. When he transferred to Troy State he pitched for the Troy State Baseball team. Through the years, he played may games of softball for the various local teams.
Larry was a member of the AHS class of 1969 and he was the second member of his family to receive a college education from Troy State.
Whether it was ballgames, band concerts, or any interest a specific one had, he always had time for his children and grandchildren. He was present at activities as they grew up and very proud of their accomplishments.
In 2013, Larry retired from Sara Lee Bread Company and enjoyed a few years before his health severely declined.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2020, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in South Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 - 8 pm Monday at Foreman Funeral Home.
He is survived by his daughter and her fiance' Kimberly Craig and Chris Cline of Opp; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny C. and Kristina Craig of Andalusia and Jason and Elizabeth Franklin of Florala; his former wife, Dianne Craig of Lockhart; grandchildren, Kirstin, Kendall, Khloe, and Jacob Craig; Owen and Evan Harrison; Andrew, Aubrey, Will, and Zach Franklin and Kellen Cline; two sisters-in-law, Flora Craig and Faye Craig both of Andalusia.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Rudo, Cecil, Bobby, Charles, and Vernell Craig and one sister, Doris Scroggins.
Pallbearers will be Kenny C. Craig, Jason Franklin, Jeremy Craig, Jarrod Craig, Mark Craig, and Mike Craig.
