Marjorie Helen Evans, 90, a resident of Irving since a small girl, went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 in Irving. Born August 29, 1929 in Olney, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Ezra Baxter Ramey and Velma Prewitt Ramey. She grew up in Irving and later married Clifford Morgan Evans, Sr. February 22, 1946. They were active members of First Baptist Church in Irving, where she taught eight-year-old’s Sunday School and later was in charge of the Home Bound Ministry for over 20 years. She worked in the Irving Independent School District for about 25 years, serving in many capacities including teacher’s aide, librarian, and school nurse. She had also worked for Southland Insurance Company of Dallas.

Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Harold, Myron, Fred, and Doris, a son Clifford Morgan Evans, Jr. in 1956, and by her husband Clifford Morgan Evans, Sr. in 2013, she is survived by her children, Rick Evans and wife Amy of Arlington, Barry Evans and wife Mary of Coppell, and Carmen Bass and husband Tim of El Paso; sister, Marilyn Ramey of Plano; brother, Jerry Ramey and wife Becky of Irving; sister-in-law, Marijohn Ramey of Bedford; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Evans and wife Erin, David Evans and wife Jocelyn, Barry Evans, Jr., Alexandra Bass, Erin Evans, and Victoria Bass; two great grandchildren, Tucker and Bailey Evans; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 403 South Main Street in Irving. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd.
