She was the oldest of seven children. She graduated from Cumberland County High School. Her graduating class took a senior trip to New York City.
She married William Travis Bow and had their first child while living in Ky. named Judy.
They moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where they had 2 more children, Ginny and Jack.
Years later she divorced Travis and married Delbert Merida. Del had 2 daughters Brenda and Jacquie. She had 15 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
After retiring from Western Electric, she had time for her many hobbies. She loved gardening, there wasn't anything she couldn't grow. She especially loved tiger lilies. She started tracking the genealogy of her large family. Her most favorite passion was making beautiful quilts. Survivors include 2 sisters-Mary Bow and Sue Bow and 1 brother-Willard Hoots Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert and her daughter Judy.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM followed by a service at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.
During this time of Covid-19, the family requests that social distancing be practiced and masks are required for the safety of all that will attend the visitation and service. Thank you in advance for your support during this difficult time.
