Frances was born in 1924 in Jefferson, SC to Wiley and Ethel Griffith who had a small farm just outside of town. She had four sisters and one brother. She graduated from Berry College in Rome, GA, and went to work for IBM in Atlanta where she met her husband, Don. After brief stints in Jacksonville, FL, San Antonio, and Little Rock they eventually moved to Texarkana, TX in 1951 where Don practiced medicine at Collom and Carney Clinic.
Frances volunteered her time and resources generously in many organizations throughout her years in Texarkana including the Junior League, Texarkana Regional Arts Council and the First United Methodist Church, Arkansas. She also enjoyed her weekly bridge games with friends, traveling with Don to Razorback football games in Fayetteville and Little Rock, as well as visiting her children and grandchild. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on August 25th at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Texarkana.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to First United Methodists Church Texarkana, AR and Hospice of Texarkana.
