Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Kerslake were held Thursday January 13 at 10 o'clock in "the Open Bible Church at Sioux Falls, S. Dakota and short services a t three o'clock at the Newell cemetery where she was laid to rest beside her husband. Blanche Sweet was born May 18, 1877 in Sac County, Iowa to Leonard and Eliza Brown Sweet and spent her early life in that vicinity. On' February 17, 1897 she was married to Geo. Kerslake of Newell, Iowa. Mr. Kerslake operated a general store in Newell for several years, later moving to Storm Lake . In 1911 they moved to Sioux Falls, S. Dakota. Mrs. Kerslake passed away a t her home in Sioux Falls, Tuesday, January 11, 1949. Mr. Kerslake preceded her in death on January 2, 1944, also one son passed away in infancy. Left to mourn he r loss are three children, Dorothy (Mrs. Milton Norberg) and John Westley of Sioux Falls, and Geo. Leonard of Huntington Park , Calif., four grandchildren, one brother, S. D. Sweet of Sioux Falls and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Boyd of Colton, Calif, and a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Kerslake was an aunt of Bill, Geo. and John Rogers and Mrs. Chas. and Earl Goetschius.
