MELISSA J. WOODS (Age 62) Of Rockville, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 25, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Gregory Heath, her son Michael and wife Cindy Roberts, and grandchildren Kevin and Krysten of Gaithersburg, MD, her daughter Lisa Roberts and husband Mike MacDonald of Los Angeles, CA, and her parents Ervin and Sheila Woods of Vero Beach, FL. She is also survived by three brothers, three sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Melissa was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church of Rockville where she was the former chair of the Missions Ministries and a member of the Friends of Casa de Pueblo in Washington, DC. A graduate of Western Illinois University with a Bachelor degree in Psychology, and American University with a Master degree in Public Administration, Melissa was the Director of the Division of Technology Innovation for Montgomery County Public Schools, where she worked for over twenty years. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, 6801 Montrose Rd., Rockville, MD on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in her name be made to the Montgomery Hospice for the Casey House, 1355 Piccard Dr., Suite 100, Rockville, MD 20850.
