Marcus Wayne Gaines, age 60, of Vienna, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Malden on March 11, 1960, son of the late Colin and Alma Gaines. On November 18, 1978, in Iberia, Marcus was united in marriage to Corlis Luttrell, who survives at their home.

Marcus was an avid reader and in his spare time he enjoyed spending time on his computer. He was a faithful member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.

In addition to his loving wife, Corlis Gaines, he is also survived by three brothers, Gordon Gaines (Beverly), David Gaines, and Walter Gaines (Shirley); two sisters, Almalee Dittman (Paul) and Amanda Potter (Ryan); step-father, Bruce Gaines; mother-in-law, Patsy Sien; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Gaines, and parents, Colin and Alma Gaines.

Memorial visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, August 19, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Ernie Miller officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Madden Cemetery.

In accordance with the CDC recommendations facial masks are encouraged for those attending the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Marcus Gaines Memorial Fund.
