Rickey McArthur Williamson, age 76 of the Williamsons Crossroads Community in Chadbourn, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, August 12, 2020, in Columbus County.

Rickey was the son of the late Jesse Floyd and Bessie Rouse Williamson and was also preceded in death by 11 siblings, Reva W. Williams, Emory L. Williamson, Aubrey Williamson, Wanda F. Williamson, Gatsy W. Pat Williamson, Evangeline W. Martin, Wayman Buck Williamson, Meredith W. Meares, Beverly W. Williamson, Bobby Williamson, and Mickey F. Williamson.

Rickey was a graduate of Evergreen High School. Upon graduation, he attended Mars Hill College, UNC Pembroke, where he obtained his Master’s Degree in Education, and later attended East Carolina University, receiving his Administration Degree in Education. He taught in the Bladen County School System for thirty years, retiring in 1995, and later at Orrum Middle School in the Robeson County School System, for three years. Upon his retirement from teaching, Rickey began working part time at the Evergreen Post Office and was later employed as the Postmaster of Evergreen Post Office for five years. Rickey was a faithful member of Williamsons Crossroads Baptist Church, where he was currently serving as a Deacon.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Williamsons Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Lamb officiating. *The service will be live streamed live on the Worthington Funeral Home Facebook Page.*

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00, Saturday evening in the Williamson Crossroads Baptist Church Sanctuary. **** Mask are required and social distancing must be practiced.****

Survivors include his beloved wife, Gail Phillips Williamson, of the home; children, Teah W. Bulris and husband, Mark, of Jacksonville, NC, Jennifer W. Blazer and husband, Tripp, of Charlotte, and Blake M. Williamson and wife, Amanda, of Concord; siblings, Cecil Williamson, of Fayetteville, Carolyn W. Cooey, of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren, Maddox Bulris, McKenzie Bulris, Elizabeth Williamson, and Cam Blazer.
