Michael Edward Payne, 60, of Jefferson City, passed away on August 12, 2020 at University of Missouri Hospital. He was born on June 12, 1960 in Jefferson City; a son of Robert G. Payne and Juanita (Vaughn) Etter.

He attended Jefferson City High School and then joined the United States Navy. After his service was completed, he attended Linn Tech, and also earned a certificate in Blasting. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting arrowheads, keeping up with current events, and especially following his nephew’s successes on the MU Wrestling team. His family will greatly miss his presence in their lives. Michael gave the gift of life through organ donation.

Michael is survived by his mother: Juanita Etter: sisters: Vicki Montgomery, Lori Backues, and Gina Mauller-Crane; nephews: Joseph McDonald, Cole Feltrop, Sean Drake, and Brock Mauller; niece: Michelle Kliethermes; great-niece: Paisley Boessen-Feltrop; and great-nephews: Logan, Blake and Grant Kliethermes. He is preceded in death by his father: Robert G. Payne; sons: Chad Aaron Lueke and Christopher Michael Payne; sister: Kelly Toebben; maternal and paternal grandparents.

Arrangements are pending and will be posted when available.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that expressions of sympathy be made to the Family of Michael Payne.
