Margaret Ellen Webb

Indianapolis - Margaret Ellen Webb, 90, died August 10, 2020 at Traditions at Solana in Indianapolis following a long illness.

Margaret grew up on the city's north side and was a graduate of Shortridge High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in early childhood education at Butler University and a master's degree at Indiana University/Bloomington. For 39 years, she taught first-, second- and third-graders at several Indianapolis public schools. A longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church, she sang in its choir and designed and fashioned costumes for the church's madrigal dinners. Margaret's greatest pleasures were gardening and her membership in the Society for Creative Anachronism; she was honored by the SCA for, among other things, her knowledge of herbs and their uses during medieval times. In addition to her circle of human friends, she had a succession of cherished feline companions.

She is survived by her sister, Mildred Geshwiler of Atlanta; a niece, Sara Jordan of Indianapolis; a nephew, James Geshwiler of Hopkinton, Mass.; four great-nieces and -nephews, and a cousin, Mary Lynn Lareau of Fishers.

After cremation, Margaret's ashes will be placed in the Trinity Church Columbarium. The memorial service at the church will be private, for family members only. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund at Trinity Episcopal Church as requested by Margaret.
