Obituary of Steven Slaughter
CAMDEN – A memorial service for Steven Carl Slaughter, 67, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Harvest Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Dulaney, Rev. George Smiling, and Rev. Ronald Laflam will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Baptist Church, Youth Fund.
Steve was called home Tuesday, August 11, 2020. Born in Grand Rapids, MI, he was a son of the late Carl Slaughter and Jean Rena Blanton Slaughter. Steve was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and a true servant of the Lord. He enjoyed helping people, golfing with his best bro Randy Tillman, and riding his motorcycle.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Hall Slaughter; children, Jacob Slaughter (Laurie) of Elgin, Eric Slaughter (Matthew) of Portland, OR, Paige Long (Will) of Columbia, Heather Branham (Henry) of Elgin, Amy McGill (Douglas) of Columbia; a brother, Scott Slaughter; sisters, Barbara Hatting; and 9 grandchildren whom he loved and cherished with his whole heart, Zachary, 19, Tate, 18, Emma Grace, 16, Regan, 15, Eli, 14, Zoe, 12, Piper, 10, Liam, 6, and Wren, 3. He was predeceased by his first wife, Katherine Slaughter; and brother, Bruce Slaughter.
