A private family graveside service for Margaret Savell Barrett was held on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at Cedarlawn Cemetery with Rev. Chris Young officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Savell Barrett was born on January 24, 1926, to Cross and Nellie Savell. On January 27, 1946, she married Dwight Barrett. They lived most of their lives in Philadelphia and Neshoba County where they raised their three children.

She was a member and past president of the Home Arts Club; Philadelphia Woman’s Club; and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Renee Bennett (Mike) of Columbus; two sons, Chuck (Linda) Barrett of Caledonia and Walt Barrett of Meridian; two granddaughters, Allison (Grant) Chandler and Claire Barrett; one great-granddaughter, Natalie Chandler; and brother, Charles Savell.

Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one sister.
