From Schaetter Funeral Home:

Myron Francis Danz passed away on August 13, 2020 at the age of 73 years. He was born on September 19, 1946 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Benno and Monica (Jung) Danz, Sr.

Myron is survived by his wife of 52 years Lynette (Klaerner) Danz. He is also survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law Shaun Danz (Kristy) of Fredericksburg and Kyle Danz of Plano, TX. Myron is survived by 3 grandchildren – Kannon Danz, Tate Danz and Logan Danz.

Myron is survived by a sister Evelyn Schaetter and brother and sister-in-law Stephen and Linda Danz. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Benno Danz Jr. and a sister Jeanette Lang.

Myron graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1965 where he excelled in football, baseball, and track. Myron earned many awards and recognitions throughout high school including Eagle Scout. He attended Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science where he received his Funeral Directors and Embalmers Licenses. This past Spring, he was awarded by the Texas Funeral Service Commission 50 Years of Licensing Award. He was a member of the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years and retired from the Texas Army National Guard after 23 years of service. Myron was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Even as a teenager and young adult, Myron had a zest for life; he was competitive and hated to lose. Many of Myron’s lifelong friends might say he had some unique skills. Some being, driving fast cars, tool-throwing and never backing down from a challenge.

In the Law Enforcement and Justice of the Peace Circles Myron was known as “Quincy” because he was always trying to assist in determining the cause of death.

Myron was known for his fierce handshake and as a man who loved his job as a funeral director. He was passionate about serving others. It did not matter if it was 3:00 in the afternoon or 3:00 in the morning, he was compassionate and available in a family’s time of need. He took his job seriously and always wanted to be the absolute best in all aspects of his profession.

Later in life, when not working, Myron’s favorite past time was relaxing with his wife at their home in Rockport. He was constantly striving to catch his limit in trout and red fish in Copano Bay. Myron’s grandchildren will remember him as an intense fisherman, a man who enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and other small machines and an Opa who absolutely LOVED to EAT! Myron enjoyed watching Kannon show his lambs and goats, Tate play baseball and Logan at her dance recitals. He will be dearly missed.

There will be a private Mass of Resurrection for Myron.
