Lucy Frances Armstrong, 85, of Celeste, passed away on Feb. 21, 2020, in Sherman, Texas.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Celeste, with Rev. Jim Sherwin and Dr. James Ralson officiating.
Mrs. Armstrong was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Celeste, Texas, to William Word McMichael and Gertie Mae Ewing McMichael. She married Doug Armstrong on July 24, 1953 in Celeste, Texas.
She retired as a bank teller from First Bank of Celeste after 45 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church since May 1945, First Baptist WMU, Celeste Thursday Club, and the Celeste High School class of 1952. She was a pianist and organist at First Baptist Church of Celeste and Sunday school teacher for first and second grade.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Armstrong of Celeste; sons, Steve Armstrong and wife Renee of Sulphur Springs, Mike Armstrong and wife Suetta of Arlington, and Kelly Armstrong of Dallas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brad Armstrong, Wes Armstrong and wife Wendi, Toby Armstrong and wife Erica, and Alan Armstrong and wife Candace, Carrie Hammons and husband Brad, Rebekah Armstrong, Anna Armstrong, Rachael Armstrong, Audrey Chance and husband Eric; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Janie King, Kay Nichols, Lynn McMichael and Sue Ellen McMichael; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ewing McMichael, Ray McMichael, Joe Dan McMichael, Jimmy McMichael; and sisters, Louise Davidson, Zoe McNabb, Beulah Mae Rigsby, Betty Baker and Nell Anderson.
Memorials may be made to St. Judes or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
