Daughter of the late Harold and Opal Bell. She was a teacher for 14 years at Flat Rock Middle School and also taught in Alabama and California. She was a member at New Hope Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Bennett; children, Alan (Tina) Bennett and Sherry Bennett; grandchildren, Jacob Bennett, Adam Bennett, and Alyssa (Jeremy) Timbs; and sister, Pam (Robert) Whitley.
