Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2020 at West Crowley Cemetery for Leola “Ma-Mom” Thomas, 93, who died at 2:10 a.m., August 10, 2020 at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley. “Ma-Mom” was a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church.
Rev. Matthew Kelso, Pastor of St. Joseph Baptist Church, will officiate for the service. The family is requesting viewing at graveside from 9:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
She is survived by three daughters, Beatrice T. White of Opelousas, Bertha Thomas of Lafayette and Betty Thomas of Crowley; two sons, Ovilla Thomas of Opelousas and Clifton Thomas of Crowley; granddaughter, Veronica Hayes; 37 grandchildren, 107 great-grandchildren, 131 great great-grandchildren and three great great great-granchildren.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Thomas; three daughters, Lourisa T. Gallow, Linda T. Jones and Ruby T. Tezeno; two sons, Elton and Nolton Thomas; her parents, Linton and Mary Jack; two grandsons, Morris Lee Gallow and Mark A. Tezeno; two great-grandchildren, Delanie Tezeno and Johnaton Martin; three sisters, Wilda Malveaux, Lee Ester Sam and Renella Jack; three brothers, Matthew Arvie, Clifton Jack and Hilton Jack.
Pallbearers will be Vris Thomas, Clifton Thomas, Jr., James Thomas, Christopher R. Gallow, Tommy Gallow and Ray A. Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Rogers Tezeno, Norris Gallow, Christopher Tezeno, Darrian Tezeno, Tristen D. Thomas and Kyle B. Horde.
