Joan Darlene Utterback Wade, 85, of Topeka, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020.

She was born September 22, 1934, in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Theodore and Luella (Wanner) Utterback. She attended Holton High School graduating in 1952 Joan went on to receive an Associate Degree in Cosmetology from Stewarts Beauty Academy.

She owned and operated Kut and Kurl Beauty Salon in Topeka until she retired in 1990.

Mrs. Wade was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church of Holton, Kansas. She was also a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Joan married William "Bill" Wade on August 9, 1952 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas . He preceded her in death on July 27, 2001. Survivors include a Son, Daughter, Five Grandchildren and Six Great~ Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Venita Sue Tucking.

Cremation is planned and private family burial will take place at a later date in Holton, Kansas.
